Be Advised: The durability of concrete is affected by many factors including the age of the concrete, the quality of the mixing, finishing and curing, and the presence of air-entrainment in the concrete mix to guard against damage from freeze-thaw cycles. All concrete should be properly placed, cured and sealed. Freeze-thaw cycles are a naturally occurring event that can put added pressure on concrete. To reduce additional freeze-thaw cycles and risk of flaking and scaling, immediately remove the slush that results from the melted ice and snow. As with all ice melters, this product should not be used on pre-cast concrete steps, pre-cast masonry walks or steps, poor quality concrete or new concrete less than one year old. These concrete products are more susceptible to damage. Do not use in excessive amounts which may cause an increase in flaking, scaling, chipping and cracking. How to Use: Apply one cup per square yard. Sprinkle evenly on to the surface area to be treated. Apply Traction Melt Cl as soon as heavy snow begins falling to help prevent it from bonding to the concrete. Remove slush and water when melted to prevent re-freezing. Storage: Re-seal tightly after each use and store in a cool, dry area.
